Zija’s weight management system “utilizes the amazing benefits of Moringa to deliver pure nutrition.” The company’s weight loss approach is original and they believe it’s very effective. But I decided to do some digging before forming my own opinion.
This Zija review contains all my research. If you’re considering using Zija products, this information should help you make an informed decision.
Can Moringa Help You Lose Weight?
Moringa oleifera is a slender tree; grown all over the world. According to the National Research Council, Moringa is the fastest growing useful tree and may be one of the earth’s most value plants.
Moringa is mainly used for food due to its rich nutrient content. In fact, Zija says it contains more than 90 vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and proteins. The company also says research proves how beneficial Moringa is, but they don’t cite any studies.
I found some Moringa studies, but none showed that it promotes weight loss.
What Other Ingredients Are Used?
Zija’s weight management system has five products:
• SmartMix – essential nutrition
• XMam – weight loss
• XMpm – non-stimulant weight loss
• XM+ Mix – energy
• Premium Tea – digestive cleansing
Every product contains Moringa and then some additional ingredients, except SmartMix:
• XMam – dutch cocoa powder and geranium
• XMpm – sea kelp, ashwagandha, and gymnema sylvestre
• XM+ Mix – caffeine, desert tea, green tea, fruit pectin, trimethylglycine, ginseng, and allium sativum
• Premium Tea – senna, buckthorn frang, peppermint, stevia, uva ursi, orange peel, rosehips, althea root, and chamomile
Are Zija Products Safe and Effective?
Since SmartMix just contains Moringa, it is healthy, but may not promote significant weight loss.
Cocoa powder and geranium (XMam) are proven to burn fat in rodents, but there are no human studies. Cocoa powder is safe, but I’m not sure about geranium. Its derivative, DMAA, was banned by the FDA in 2012.
Sea kelp, ashwagandha, and gymnema sylvestre (XMpm) may improve metabolism, increase energy, and reduce cravings. But only gymnema sylvestre is backed by human research. Ashwagandha and gymnema sylvestre are considered safe. However, sea kelp contains iodine which–in large dosages–causes hyperthyroidism.
Caffeine and green tea are proven to increase energy, burn fat, and suppress cravings. The remaining XM+ Mix ingredients may boost energy, but they’re not proven. All these ingredients are considered safe. But if large dosages are used, they may be unsafe or cause side effects.
Premium Tea contains natural diuretics and laxative. For most people, these ingredients are safe. There is a chance you’ll experience diarrhea and digestive problems while using Premium Tea.
It is essential that each product contains safe, effective ingredients and dosages. Most of these ingredients are safe, but some I’m not sure about. A few ingredients are clinically proven. I don’t know if safe, effective dosages are used because Zija hides these from consumers.
Is Zija a Reputable Company?
Zija was founded by Kenneth Brailsford in 2006. It is a multi-level marketing company with two focuses: selling Zija products and recruiting new members.
New members pay a $39 enrollment fee for their first year. After that, the yearly fee is $25. Membership perks include lower product costs and the opportunity to make residual income. For example, 30 SmartMix cans retail for $105. But Zija distributors pay the wholesale price of $90.
Residual income comes as members recruit people and then make commissions off the new members’ sales.
Overall, Zija appears to have a good reputation. On BBB.org, the company maintains an A+ rating by resolving all customer complaints. The Better Business Bureau also has what it calls “sufficient background information” on Zija.
Buying Zija Products
You can purchase Zija products on Wellness4Life.MyZija.com or Amazon.com. If you are a Zija member, prices on the official website are lower. Here are the retail prices for monthly supplies:
• SmartMix: $105
• XMam: $69
• XMpm: $69
• XM+ Mix: $115
• Premium Tea: $45
Most Amazon.com prices are about $10 lower than retail cost. But not all Zija products are sold on Amazon.com. Also, watch out for scams. Many consumers report being sold fake products.
Should You Use Zija for Weight Loss?
I’m impressed with Moringa’s benefits and Zija’s good reputation. However, I have two concerns. First, the company provides minimal information about their products. So, I’m not confident Zija products are safe and effective. Second, the products are expensive.
If you want to buy diet pills, you can easily find safe, effective ones for less money. I recommend diet pills that provide enough information so you can feel confident in your decision.
